At the end of last year, we reached a significant milestone for JBT: advertising our very first paid position. It was an exciting step forward, and the response was overwhelming.
After carefully reviewing an impressive pool of applications, we shortlisted three outstanding candidates. Last week, our Chair of Trustees, Sam D'Auvin, and our Development Lead, Sam Mason, met with them for informal interviews.
Each applicant would have been a fantastic addition to the team, making the final decision incredibly tough. But we are absolutely delighted to announce that Hannah Foster has been selected for the role!
Hannah brings a remarkable depth of experience, with more than four years in youth engagement, creative facilitation, and arts coordination. Her songwriting credentials are equally impressive: as a teenager, her original work earned First Place for “Best Student Music” at the Poinciana Arts Festival, and one of her songs was later performed by the Cayman National Orchestra. More recently, she was chosen as an artist for Generator’s prestigious Next Up Programme, where she collaborated with fellow emerging artists and a producer to write, record, and produce an original track.

Hannah shared her excitement about joining the JBT team:
I’m so excited to be welcomed to the JBT team! With my unique background as a competitive a cappella singer and a professional lead vocalist who specialises in RnB/Funk/Pop/Soul and Jazz music, I can’t wait for us all to share not only what we love about music, but to share the music we love, and the music we put love into.
Everyone at JBT is thrilled to welcome Hannah and watch her bring fresh energy to our work. We’re confident she will elevate every aspect of the charity, delivering the highest quality education and opportunities for the young people in our Songwriters & Storytellers sessions. Beyond the sessions, her warmth, skills, and growing network make her an ideal ambassador for JBT at networking events and beyond.
From all the Trustees: heartfelt congratulations, Hannah! We can’t wait to see the impact you’ll make!
