JBT buys 80+ Plaza tickets for children this summer

We have purchased the tickets and delivered vouchers to primary schools in Sefton.

Jacob Billington Trust has purchased over 80 children's tickets for the Plaza Cinema, enabling young people from local schools to enjoy a summer filled with cinematic experiences. This initiative aims to provide children with an exciting and entertaining opportunity during their summer holidays - a time that we know can be financially straining for many families.

Alongside music, film was one of Jacob's passions - he was always up to date with upcoming releases and would offer his opinion on the latest movie he'd watched (whether you'd asked him or not!).

We have shared the tickets between various schools throughout Sefton and have asked the school staff to pass them to the children that they think would benefit the most.

This is the first time that the JBT has worked with the Plaza Cinema, and we are excited to see how we can continue to support each other. The cinema is a local and affordable community asset that we encourage everyone in our community to continue to support.

Danny and Oliver, two of our trustees, and former volunteers at the Plaza, had this to say about the partnership.

"As a trustee of JBT and a former volunteer at the Plaza Cinema, I have personally witnessed the incredible impact this beloved venue has on our community. Partnering with the Plaza Cinema has been an absolute pleasure, as we share a common goal of bringing joy and inspiration to the lives of young people. Their unwavering support and commitment to creating lasting memories align perfectly with our mission, and we are grateful for this wonderful collaboration". - Danny
"The Plaza Community Cinema is an absolute gem for sharing the joys of cinema in the Sefton area. It has always, and still is, my go to cinema and a place that I have many memories with Jacob. As an astute lover of film, Jacob saw hundreds of films there, including some midnight showings. We are very proud to be able to provide this opportunity with the hardworking volunteers at the Plaza Cinema" - Oliver

Everyone at the JBT would like to thank the Plaza, specifically the manager Martin Fol, for their support with initiative.
