We at the JBT are thrilled to share some exciting news! Sam Hilton and Toby Tyas, both employees at Cerberus Nuclear, and colleagues of our Trustee, John Billingsley, recently completed an incredible cycling fundraiser in support of the JBT.
Over the course of three days, Sam and Toby pedalled over 200 miles from Southport to Hornsea to complete the famous coast-to-coast Trans Pennine Trail. Their journey was filled with incredible views, endless camaraderie, and miraculously, not a single puncture! Daily updates on their progress were shared on their JustGiving page (don’t worry, they weren’t riding while posting!) which kept us all on the edge of our seats, rooting for them every mile of the way.
With very tired legs, but high spirits, Sam and Toby raised an astounding £1400, completely surpassing their original target of £1000 which is testament to their dedication and hard work. We are beyond grateful to receive this support, and we extend a huge thank you to everyone who donated.
Adding to this, we are also honoured to announce that Cerberus Nuclear made an additional generous donation, bringing the total amount raised to over £2000! This fantastic sum will go a long way in helping us provide support to young people in Sefton in music and the creative arts. A special thank you to Cerberus Nuclear for their support, and their involvement in this fundraiser showcases the positive impact that corporate giving can have in our community.
A Look at What We've Achieved This Year
Thanks to donations like these, we've been able to:
Continue Music Lesson Funding: We've continued to part-fund music lessons with our main providers, ensuring that more young people have access to the joy and benefits of music education.
Form New Partnerships: We’ve formed new partnerships with Bookshop Studios - to provide access to rehearsal spaces, and the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, and the SAE Institute in Liverpool – to fund multiple places on a song writing course this summer.
Showcase Talent at Live Events: We’ve put on live events to showcase the incredible talent of young people within our community, and continued our regular Songwriters and Storytellers sessions which give opportunities to performers to showcase original material in a welcoming environment.
A Message from Our Chair of Trustees
Our Chair of Trustees, Sam D'Auvin, expressed huge thanks:
“We are incredibly grateful to Sam, Toby, and Cerberus Nuclear for their outstanding support. Their combined efforts not only raise crucial funds to support the young people of Sefton, but also spread awareness of our goals as a charity. A huge thank you to you all.”
Why Corporate Giving Matters
Corporate donations, like this one from Cerberus Nuclear, play a pivotal role in the nonprofit sector. They provide essential financial support and help raise awareness about the causes we champion. When companies step up to support charities, they set a powerful example for others.
A Huge Thank You
A huge thank you to the directors of Cerberus Nuclear for their support, to everyone who has donated, and to Sam and Toby for their incredible dedication and effort. Your contributions make a world of difference.
With heartfelt thanks,
The JBT Team
